Review: Clarsskin Underarm Cleanser

Hey ladies! I know that i haven't posted in FORRRREVERRRR but you know, I have a life. I have school. I have my clubs. But yeah. So, recently, I was sent a product to review. The product under scrutiny today is Clarsskin Underarm Cleanser!

....
....
....

That was my reaction when I first read the email sent to me by the company. A soap specially for my armpits? I wasn't aware of the fact that they were so dirty and unclean from just using regular body soap. I wasn't sure if this was some spam thing or not, so I clicked on thier link and I googled it and it turns out that other people have been sent the product for review. So, lets review.

What They Say: Clarsskin Underarm Cleanser is a specialized underarm cleanser designed to gently and efficiently remove all traces of antiperspirant deoderant residue. The first product to define the true meaning of clean.

What I say: Lets get down to the nitty gritty shits. First off, my initial impression is WHAT THE FUCK. I mean I honestly wasn't aware that my armpits were coated with some residue of deoderant. I mean, they are clean after I get out of the shower. Do people actually have residue from deoderant? Like does it clog up your razor? Because it doesn't for me... Maybe the conditioner I use does but I just wash it out. If it makes any difference, I use a gel, roll on deoderant from Ban. It could be different if you use a stick one right?
  1. Smell- It smells like...*sniff sniff*... lemoney. Almost like Lucky Charms. No, your armpits don't smell like lucky charms when you get out of the shower. There is an unscented version if you want that.
  2. Bottle Design- I like the design actually. I like how it can sit on its cap. When you open it, you see that it has this rubbery thingie with an x shaped slit that sits over the hole. It prevents everything from just spilling everywhere. Yay!
  3. Price- It is 14.95 for 4 oz and you can buy it on thier website (just click the title and you will be linked there but just in case that doesn't work, its http://www.clarsskin.com/)
  4. Usage- It says that you can also use it as a shaving cream. It works because its like using soap for a shaving cream. Usually I use conditioner, but this works just as well. As for the cleanness of my armpits... I feel like I just used a basic soap you know? I don't feel "fresher" or "cleaner" in any way. Perhaps it could be that I don't use a stick or that I don't use enough deoderant? I would imagine this to be better for people who apply deoderant like 10 times a day or who like slather it on like butter.
Overall Feel- This is really awkward for me because I can see the potential for it, but for me, its like a glorified soap. And the price tag of 15 dollars is quite hefty. Would I buy it again? Maybe if it were like 5 dollars, I would buy it as a gift for a friend.. But right now at the price, no.

Recommended for: People who slather on deoderant like its nobody's business, people who apply deoderant like 10 times a day, people who get deoderant stains on clothing, people who like to be super clean.

Review: Garnier Nutri-Pure Oil-Free Detoxifying wet cleansing towelettes with a bonus unintentional swatchfest *PIC HEAVY*

Today's post is brought to you by the letter S for shitty wipes and the number 6 because thats how much i wasted when i paid for them. I will be reviewing the Garnier oil-free nutri-pure wipes. This post is also a pretty good swatchfest post hehe. The picture was taken from drugstore.com

So lets get into the good shit yeah?

According to Garnier (as taken from drugstore.com)-
Instantly removes make-up, even mascara, leaving skin deeply clean & pure.
Vitamin B5

Green Leaf Extract

Vitamin E
Convenient towelettes instantly remove make-up, even mascara. With purifying "dermatological-nutrients,"* gently detoxify, leaving skin deeply clean and pure.

Is it right for me?

Nutri-Pure is right for you if you want a quick, gentle, thorough cleansing that detoxifies skin.
How is it different?

Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure is our 1st detoxifying towelette, with a unique combination of "dermatological-nutrients"

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Isopropyl Palmitate, Myristyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Methylparaben, Perfume (Fragrance), Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Linalool, FIL

What I say:

Lets start with the basics:
  1. Smell- The smell is amazing. I love the smell of Garnier stuff. Nothing bad here.
  2. Feel- An important part of the wipe is the feel. The texture. You don't want something that feels like cheap toilet paper nor do you want to feel like you're using a shamwow, unless you're into that kind of stuff. Also you might not want a cloth that's dripping with makeup remover. This towelette, has a nice texture. I like how it resembles a paper towel, the good stuff, like Bounty. However, I do think that it feels dry, and not as wet as Biore (MY FAVORITE JUST SAYING OKAYY)
  3. Effectiveness- Lets let the pictures speak for themselves. I put the makeup wipe on the hand for 10 seconds, then wiped. The makeup was allowed to sit for 5 minutes.

From L to R: Revlon- Fuschia Fusion, N.Y.C- Blue Rose, Revlon Colorstay- Natural Cashmere, E.L.F- Party Pink, N.Y.C- Petal

Interesting. It took a few more seconds of scrubbing. My arm still hurts.

From L to R: Kate Gel Liner in Gold, L'Oreal HIP- Midnight Blue, Physicians Formula Strips- Black, Maybelline- Brown, Smashbox- Fan Club, Almay- Mascara, Sephora- Flashy Copper, L'Oreal HIP- Meticulous, Annabelle- Sea Green.

No amount of scrubbing could get the PF cream liner off my arm. DAMN. This is completely pitiful. I scrubbed for another 30 seconds.

No.

Oh hay look at that. I have a suprise EOTD! So... yeah. This is how it reacts to eyeshadow. It's not that bad in that sense at least.

Am I happy? OH HELL TO THE NO. It is gentle alright. So gentle that it only removes eyeshadow, face powder. I have so many problems with this product. First off, why do they say in the description that it even removes mascara? I know that so many companies say this but really now? It's not like it would be considered a miracle if it did remove mascara. Like... it's not novel. It's not like "AND IT EVEN REMOVES NAIL POLISH!". Actually if a makeup wipe did remove nail polish, no way it's touching my eyeball.

Also, it's possible that i've been spoiled by Biore wipes and that I wear so much makeup that I need industial strength cleaner to remove my makeup, but really now? It can't take off gel liner? Uncool. There are still makeup residues on my arm from the eyeliners. It didn't even take off the Maybelline gel liner and that's pretty soft.

Finally, how is it that they are recommended by Allure? Well in the best of the beauty list in Allure, there is always Maybelline Great Lash.... Soo.... No offense to the great lash supporters. I just don't think that it helps my asian eyelashes.

Cost: Approximately 6-8 dollars.
Recommended- Only if you wear light makeup. If not, then no.

Tar-jay Haul

Hey ladies! Normally, I would be doing a review right now, but actually I don't feel like it. I feel like sharing the haul I got from Target yesterday! I had to buy some stuff like RAINBOOTS. Literally, it rains so much here. =0= I checked the weather report for this coming week, and well, it's going to rain tonight, monday, tuesday and the temperature isn't going above 65. And then next monday and next tuesday its supposed to rain again.

I think that in the middle of the week, I'll be updating again while watching CRIMINAL MINDS AND TOP MODEL! I will be doing a review of Garnier Makeup Wipes (finally I'm getting around to it).

So onto the haul! I bought 1 liter of listerine, body soap, Almay Interplay mascara in emerald flash (i have a review on that already), Revlon lipstick in Fuschia Fusion, and rainboots with a houndtooth print.

Personally, I was afraid of buying the lipstick becuase I thought that I already had something in that color. I have N.Y.C's lipstick in Blue Rose. However, I think that blue rose is actually purplier on my lips than Fuschia Fusion. I have a swatch of both. It's pretty obvious that they don't look the same at all. Fuschia Fusion swatches more red while Blue Rose swatches more pink (on my camera). I'll do better swatches once it's actually SUNNY outside. Plus, I was going to do a review of the lipstick this coming weekend. On top is Fuschia Fusion and on bottom is Blue Rose.

Yay! That's all for now!
