DIY: Rhinestone (or strassing) a shirt

Let's DIY a rhinestone shirt! Usually when I think of rhinestones, I think of small toddlers and preteen, disney channel, hannah montana crap in K-Mart clearance bins. However they can be super chic too.

Finished Product:

You need:

  • Rhinestones- Got mine off ebay. I got 2000, but i used like 1000.
  • Tshirt- Old from Hanes
  • A design printed on a sheet of paper
  • Jewel-It by Aleene's
Step 1: Cut out your design.

Step 2: Draw your design on your tshirt. Also, you might want to take the time to mark out what colors you want to use, where you want to rhinestone in blahblahblah.
Step 3: Glue on Rhinestones with Jewel-It
Halfway done!

I have to do an OOTD with this shirt sometime :)

Knitting Heart Mittens

I *finally* finished this pair of heart mittens for myself. phew!

So I also went to Walgreens and OMG I GOT THE L'OREAL INFALLIABLE EYESHADOW IN BRONZED TAUPE. I will put up swatches and a review later this week. I'll get it up after I return to CMU on Sunday.

DIY: Baby Doll Dress with Peter Pan Collar

First time making a dress with no pattern with a collar! The skirt came from another old project that I did in 8th grade. The top is broadcloth from Joann Fabric. I basically cut out a tank top pattern and stuck it on. Collar is made from another old project circa 9th grade. My needle was too big for the fabric, hence the crappy hems on the armholes lol.

If you don't make your own "pattern" (I use that term VERY loosely. For me, it's like rectangles with holes), then use a tank top and a skirt, stitch together and voila, new baby doll dress. Hot.

Again, as modeled by my lovely sister. It is a little lopsided, but that's a okay!

DIY: Pencil Skirt with exposed zipper

Sorry I didn't take pictures of the process! I only took pictures of the end process. However, this is still a really quick tutorial of making a pencil skirt, waistband and all.

What you need:
1. Fabric (I used around 1.5 yards, but still had a ton left over)
2. Zipper
3. Material for waistband.

Step 1: Make yo "pattern" and take yo measurements

Step 2: Cut out your skirt using the pattern and sew it.
Step 3: Attach zipper. I put the zipper all the way down the front.
Step 4: Attach lining. I used the same method that I used to make the fur vest here
Step 5: Attach waistband. It's basically a rectangle.

Lipstick Spotlight: MAC Honeylove

I finally picked up MAC Honeylove. It's a nude that's like Viva Gaga II, but a shade or two darker. I've been lusting for this for a long time now.

I've been a crappy blogger lately lololol not posting and such. I'll be doing a post on a pencil skirt soon :)
